DOI: 10.1021\/jo500349g.<\/p>\n<div id=\"Abstract\" class=\"article_abstract-title\" tabindex=\"0\">\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Abstract<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"abstractBox\" class=\"article_abstract-content hlFld-Abstract\">\n<div id=\"f_tgr1\" class=\"article_abstract-img\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pubs.acs.org\/cms\/10.1021\/jo500349g\/asset\/images\/medium\/jo-2014-00349g_0004.gif\" alt=\"Abstract Image\" \/><\/div>\n<p class=\"articleBody_abstractText\">An improved preparation of mesoionic heterocycles 1,3-diazolium-4-thiolates by [3 + 2] cycloadditions of m\u00fcnchnones with aryl isothiocyanates is reported. The process takes place with high or complete regioselectivity, and fast and clean transformations are observed under microwave heating in DMF. DFT calculations support that this cycloaddition proceeds preferably through a stepwise mechanism.
